Fundraiser thanks Myton Hospice for care it gave her husband

A FUNDRAISING Woodloes Woman has donated £1,000 to Myton Hospice to say thank you for the care it gave her husband in his final days.

Viv Hughes raised the cash by taking part in the charity’s Moonlight Walk event in September and she collected sponsorship money mostly from colleagues at Woseley, where her husband David also worked, and the Leamington Liberals snooker team for whom he played.

She also made a personal donation.

Mr Hughes was 48-years-old when he died of cancer of the larynx in July.

His wife has thanked the hospice for making the last weeks of his life as comfortable as possible and for helping him feel at ease.

Jamie and Robert, Mr Hughes’ step sons, have taken part in a fundraising skydive and will donate £1,600 to the hospice next month. www.mytonhospice.org
