From Long Itchington to the surface of Jupiter

REGULARS at The Green Man pub in Long Itchington tried their hand at astronomy when they studied stars and planets on Tuesday night.

Villager Keith Turnecliffe and others set up three telescopes in the pub’s car park from where people gazed at Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system, and Venus, the second planet from the sun.

The organisers also held a presentation and slide show in the back room of the pub.

The event was organised by FROLIC (Friends for the Restoration Of Long Itchington Church) and was one of many activities which have raised £25,000 since July. The money will be used to restore the church tower and to make other improvements.
