Free training as Kenilworth Runners warm up for race day

Places in Kenilworth’s annual half marathon are still up for grabs with organisers opening free training sessions for another year.

The 13-mile race is organised by Kenilworth Runners each September and will this year form part of the Warwickshire Road Race league.

The undulating course which starts from Castle Farm has been voted into the prestigious Runners World Top 50 races thanks to “efficient organisation and a friendly atmosphere”.

A spokesperson for Kenilworth Runners said: “We anticipate again reaching full race capacity this year and therefore strongly recommend that you get your entries in early to secure your place and avoid disappointment.”

The race will be held on September 6 and runners will get a technical sports shirt.

Training runs will be held every Sunday from 8am in the run up to the big day, starting on July 12 from the Wardens club. Caters for all abilities.

Entry is £18 for affiliated and £23 for unaffiliated runners. As roads are not closed, headphones are not permitted.
