Fond farewell to teaching assistant who inspired Leamington school pupils

PUPILS at St Paul’s Primary School will bid a fond farewell to a teaching assistant who has passed on her love of nature over the years.

Kate Bailey worked at the school in Upper Holly Walk, Leamington, for 33 years retired last Friday.

The former teacher joined the school in 1978 and has overseen the renovation of its courtyard garden and many other projects around the site through her contacts at Warwick District Council and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.

Away from the school, Mrs Bailey is a guide dog breeder and is a founder member of Mid Warwickshire Neighbourhood Watch Association.

Headteacher Pete Farrell said: “Kate has been an inspiration.

“She has passed on her knowledge of wildlife and the environment to thousands of children.”
