Firefighters tackle conference centre blaze

Shortly before 4.30pm Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service received the call of a building fire at the Woodside Conference Centre in Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth.

One crew from Kenilworth and one from Leamington arrived to find the second floor of the building heavily smoke logged.

They used breathing apparatus and hose reels to tackle the blaze, and by 5.12pm crews had put out the fire and made the scene safe.

It is not yet clear how the fire started, and nobody is believed to have been injured.
