Festive fun raises money for hospices

HUNDREDS of visitors got into the festive spirit at Myton Hospice last weekend for the charity’s annual Christmas Fayre.

The event raised more than £5,500, a new record, and stalls sold seasonal refreshments such as turkey baps and mince pies.

Children had the chance to meet Father Christmas and his little helper. Many of the items sold were brand new and most had been kindly donated by supporters and volunteers.

Events manager Charlotte Ingram said: “It was a fantastic day and we are thrilled about the amount of money raised. We hope everyone had a brilliant time and would like to thank those who came along, donated items and helped on the day.

“We couldn’t do it without the wonderful support of the local community.”

The event followed the charity’s Coventry fayre which was held on November 12 and raised £3,400 - bringing the total for both to almost £9,000.
