Festival fun in Crick

Dozens of straw-stuffed characters were dotted around the village featuring everything from Robin Hood to St George and his dragon and stars from The Wizard of Oz.

Drizzly weather stopped just before the festival kicked off on Saturday.

There was also a fun fair, games and a number of stalls, helping to raise money for local worthwhile causes.

People of all ages enjoyed the music festival, which featured favourites such as Courthouse, Castle, Charlie Mucklow, tan.trum, GNR Rollin Stock, Spitfire, Stupid Boots, Chasing Deer, Half Cut who also helped the sound crew, Yellow Dog R &B band, Sophia Vassalos Band, The Morning Chorus, Dead Frequency and Ruder Than U.

Organisers said it was a big success. Music festival organiser Ian Gidley, said the weekend will raise around £10,000 for charity.

He said: “The tea and cake helpers made £2,700 for the air ambulance and Crick Colts FC made over £1,600 on the barbecue which will go to the new sports field.

“The bar run by the Crick Lions will probably raise around £5,000.”

Dave Sulley, who is on the festival committee said: “It was a a fantastic weekend of entertainment.”
