Family of killed Warwick soldier bring his Afghan dog home

THE dog of a fallen Warwick soldier has been flown back from Afghanistan.

Peg, a three-year-old mongrel, was a stray dog in the Helmand province that former Claverdon Primary School pupil Pte Conrad Lewis, 22, of 4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment, and his regiment was caring for.

He was shot in Afghanistan in February and his family have been working with animal charity Nowzad to bring home Peg, named after the winged-horse Pegasus, who will be in quarantine until November.
