Family music concerts return to Warwick in the new year

The new year will bring plenty of talented musicians to Warwick as the 11th Music In The Round series, promoted by Leamington Music, begins in January.

The piano trio of Peter Cropper, who created Music In The Round when he was the leader of the world famous string quartet The Lindsays, performs at the Bridge House Theatre on January 12 at 3pm.

On Monday January 13, Cropper and Moray Welsh visit Warwick School to give young string players a masterclass: part of a Leamington Music Education Programme which continues on January 30, with percussionists O Duo at Aylesford School in Warwick and on February 10 and 11, with Ensemble 360 at primary schools in Kenilworth, Leamington and Warwick - followed up by a workshop-based family concert on February 16.

O Duo will perform their programme Crash! Bang! Wallop! - for children aged seven plus - at Bridge House on February 2 at 3pm. On February 16 morning, narrator Polly Ives returns wth Ensemble 360 to perform work by Paul Rissmann, Stan and Mabel, recommended for toddlers and children aged three and upwards. Ensemble 360 perform again that day, with their programme including works by Wagner, Martinu and Britten.

The season closes on March 16 with a concert by the leading baroque group Florilegium.
