Drugs crime suspect flees but is caught

A police hunt in Warwick and Stratford was triggered after a man who had been arrested on drugs charges escaped from hospital on Sunday.

The 19-year-old, from Birmingham, was one of three arrested on suspicion of possession of ecstasy at the Global Gathering festival over the weekend. Because of concerns for his health, he was taken to Warwick Hospital. He escaped through a window on Sunday afternoon and following an extensive search involving officers, dogs and a helicopter, he was arrested again and taken to Leamington police station.

The other two men arrested on Saturday, aged 33 and 30 and also from Birmingham, were also taken to Leamington and have been released on bail.
