A man has been sentenced in relation to a burglary at a house in Leamington.

Stefan Watkin, 44, of Theatre Street, Warwick was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on Thursday (August 6) after pleading guilty to a burglary at the house in Price Road on 11 May.

He was jailed for two years and four months

On the morning of 11 May, Watkin gained entry to the house while the occupants were asleep and stole cash, chocolate and an empty mobile phone box.

He was arrested a couple of weeks later after fingerprints linked him to the offence.

Detective Constable Matt Collins from Leamington Proactive CID said: “Our investigation quickly identified Watkin as the suspect and we were able to put him before the court.

"We’re pleased with this outcome that ensures he won’t be able offend again for some time.”
