Man found with serious head injury in Leamington - police believe he may have been attacked

A man was left with a serious head injury after what appears to be an attack in Leamington.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Church Street at between 1-1.45am today (Saturday) where they found the injured victim - a man in his 40s.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 40-year-old woman from Leamington, a 44-year-old woman from Warwick, and a 57-year-old man from Leamington have been arrested on suspicion of assault - GBH.

They are in police custody at this time while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Ollie Deakin said: “We’re in the very early stages of the investigation but we’re keen to establish how the man came to have suffered his head injury.

“We believe he may have been the victim of a potential assault and are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.

“If you were in Church Street and the surrounding streets between 1am and 1.45am this morning and saw anything unusual or untoward, please call us.

“Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could prove significant to our ongoing enquiries.”
