Man arrested in Rugby after police witness suspected drug deal

A Rugby man has been arrested as part of a stop search in the town.

Officers from Rugby’s Proactive CID team were patrolling on Lower Hillmorton Road at 11.30am on Wednesday (December 2) when they witnessed a suspected drug deal taking place between a man and the occupants of a vehicle.

A search was carried out and suspected Class A drugs were seized along with cash and a mobile phone.

A 46-year-old man was arrested by officers on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Enquiries are currently ongoing but anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police.
