Leamington man arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty

A man has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty offences following an incident in Leamington this afternoon (September 10).

At around 1pm, police were called to a report of a man assaulting a dog on Parade.

Officers attended and a 45-year-old man from Leamington was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

The dog has been seized and is being safely looked after.

An investigation is ongoing, and officers would like to speak to anyone to who witnessed the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 169 of September 10.
