Armed officers raided a house in Leamington after reports of firearms in the property.

Police found ammunition and firearms components when they entered the house in Charles Gardner Road at about 7.30pm on September 21.

A 40-year-old man from Birmingham and 22-year-old man from Birmingham were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

Both have been bailed until October while enquiries continue.

A police spokesperson said: "Armed officers were deployed to a property in Charles Gardner Road, Leamington after concerns were raised that someone at the property had been in possession of a firearm earlier in the day. Officers entered the property and seized ammunition and firearms components.

"Anyone with information that could help police with their enquiries should call 101 quoting incident 243 of 21 September 2020. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
