Now in its 21st year, the twelfth century property recently experienced a record year after its permanent marquee held its 350th event, and it is the first time the hotel has received the VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation.

Ron Terry, general manager of Coombe Abbey Hotel, said the accreditation is a reflection of the efforts of the team to provide not only a quality service for guests of leisure, but also a quality venue and experience for businesses which host events and conferences at the historic site.

“To receive national recognition in what can be a very competitive events and trade industry is an outstanding feat, and this is made all the more impressive when you realise we are a privately-owned business competing with much larger chain venues to a win a place within the Gold Standard category,” he said.

“BDRC Continental is the largest independent market research firm in the UK and featured more than 370 venues in its VenueVerdict Accreditation, demonstrating the gravity of the accreditation.
