Mr Jackson joined South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust in 1991 and since then has become one of the senior clinicians in the hospital’s maternity department. He has also been able to see the maternity unit develop, including in recent years, the development of a new and improved waiting area and midwives’ station.

Mr Jackson said: “It has been a pleasure working for the trust. I have had the privilege of meeting lots of lovely families and working with fantastic colleagues. I am so pleased to have seen the maternity unit develop over the years.”

Mr Jackson’s final delivery was Rory Hart, born on October 9. Rory’s parents, Linda and John, were delighted that he was able to deliver their son as he had also delivered Rory’s sister Pheobe.

Glen Burley, trust chief executive, said: “Mr Jackson will be sorely missed. He has been a key member of the obstetrics team and played a pivotal role in maternity services in south Warwickshire.”
