Comedy success for hall

WELLESBOURNE village hall has been confirmed as a “vital” asset to the village, following a sell-out charity show.

Edinburgh Fringe sell-out comedian Ginny Davis debuted recently her latest production, Something Fishy, at the building to help raise funds for Wellesbourne restoration site Chedham’s Yard.

The parish council is in the process of putting forward an offer to either buy or rent the premises to ensure its future as a community facility.

Chedham’s Yard trustee Marian Johnston, who organised the show, said: “It was a sell-out and we raised about £600.

“We will definitely use the village hall as we move ahead. It is vital to us.”
