Cocaine-possessing man arrested in Leamington

A KENILWORTH man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug, believed to be cocaine, at a nightclub in Leamington.

Police officers were called to Smack in Tavistock Street in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) after door staff detained the 23-year-old, who lives in Gibbet Hill.

He was arrested, taken into custody, questioned and subsequently given a police caution after admitting possession of a controlled class A drug.

The caution means that current or future employers will be informed if the man works in a position of trust or responsibility such as a teacher, care worker, taxi driver, soldier or doctor.

Plans to live, work, study or holiday abroad may also be put on hold as some countries will not allow people who have been cautioned to visit.
