Attempted robbery in Warwick by hooded thug

Warwickshire Police have issued an appeal for information following an attempted robbery by a hooded man close to Warwick Hospital.

The incident occurred on Saturday at around 7.20am in Peel Road close to Percy Road and Wathen Road.

A 39-year-old woman was walking along the street when she was approached by a man with his hooded jacked pulled up. He tried to grab her handbag from her shoulder.

She resisted but was then pulled to the ground by the man leaving her with minor injuries to her face and wrist.

He then ran off down a side alleyway without the handbag.

Police have issued a descriptionof him as white, in his 20s, approximately 5ft 2ins tall and of average build.

He was wearing a waist-length black hooded zip-up jacket with the hood up, and grey tracksuit bottoms.
