Albion Street store ‘robbed by man waving a used needle’

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at the One Stop convenience store in Albion Street around 6pm on Saturday.

During the incident, a male ran into the store and threatened a member of staff with a used needle.

He grabbed a small amount of cash from the till and ran out of the shop.

The member of staff was not injured during the incident.

Officers are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the male run out of the shop or away from Albion Street at around 6pm on Saturday May 11.

He is described as white 5’11 to 6’ tall, in his mid 20s and of athletic build.

He was wearing blue jeans, white trainers and a black jacket with the hood up and a scarf covering his face.

Officers are also keen to trace a female customer who came into the store just as the man ran out as she may be able to assist with their enquiries.
