Number of homes on the market doubles

The number of people putting their homes on the market with Brian Holt doubled in August in Leamington compared with the same month last year.

The rise in enthusiasm to sell is duplicated at the estate agency’s Kenilworth and Earlsdon offices too, with Kenilworth seeing a 75 per cent rise in instructions and Earlsdon putting up to two new homes on the market every day throughout August.

The Leamington office also saw viewings increase by 55%, the number of people having their homes valued and adding their names to the mailing list rise by 38% and gross sales up by 14%.

In Kenilworth valuations were up by 40% and sales by 17%.

Kenilworth manager Julie Philpot said the reason for the flurry of recent activity could be the return to normality after a season of festivities.

People seem to be getting back to normal now the jubilee and the Olympics have finished,” she said.
