Knight Frank enjoying a busy start to the new year

Knight Frank’s Stratford office is enjoying a busy start to 2014 with viewings up 30 per cent compared to this time last year.

This activity builds upon the successes of the latter half of 2013, when both September and October proved to be particularly busy months.

James Way (pictured), head of Knight Frank’s Stratford office said: “It’s encouraging that the phones have been so busy in the first full week of the year, given that the market is traditionally slower over the winter period.

“We’ve had new buyers registering with us and new instructions coming to the market; everything from cottages and townhouses to manor houses and equestrian properties. 2013 saw the market pick up across much of the UK with the London property boom showing no signs of abating.

“We have felt some ripples of positive influence from the London market with purchasers choosing to take advantage of record prices and move out of the capital.

“Town properties continue to be the most popular property on the market, but those best in class country properties in popular areas such as south Warwickshire and the north Cotswolds are also proving popular.

“A lack of available properties will remain a key feature of the 2014 market, with demand continuing to outstrip supply.

“We are unlikely to see strong capital growth this year, yet the market across our region remains active, especially in the south of the region and in the fashionable areas of Stratford and Leamington.”

With the opening of a new office in Stow on the Wold, Knight Frank continues to consolidate its position as the area’s leading prime property agent with an unparalleled depth of knowledge of the regional market.
