Accord Lets staff help the homeless

Supporting the Community is part of Accord Lets mission statement and the staff in the Leamington Spa office embrace it throughout the year.

Although they spend their time finding homes for people who can afford them, they haven’t forgotten the many who don’t know what it is to have a decent roof over their heads and have once again collected food, bedding and clothing to help those who require them most – the homeless in Leamington.

Every year Accord Lets work alongside Christian Mission who operate a soup kitchen opposite the office, providing soup to up to 100 people a night, three nights a week. With the temperatures now plummeting and the met office warning of another cold winter, the staff at Accord sensed an urgency for their collection of clothing, food and other well needed items.

Katie Martin, branch manager of the Leamington Spa office said: “Providing support to those in need should not just be at Christmas, so we have volunteered to help in the soup kitchen whenever support is needed. Christian Mission receives no central funding and relies completely on donations. The team here are always eager to help such a worthy cause.

“When Steph at Christian Mission was informed Accord were collecting items for the homeless again, she was overwhelmed with our support.

“The homeless aren’t only there at Christmas but it is a time of year when the cold weather means our work is more vital and Accord’s donations will make a real difference”.

Although Accord has donated generously, Christian Mission are always in need of donations to help towards making a difference. Please feel free to donate items to the Leamington Spa Accord office and they will be passed on to Geoff and Steph.
