Free stop smoking session in Leamington

Twenty per cent of people in Warwickshire are smokers - and the county’s NHS Stop Smoking service is encouraging them to quit by offering a free advice service in Leamington this week.

There will also be free goody bags handed out at the Stoptober Roadshow, which is visiting the Bruswick Healthy Living Centre in Shrubland Street on Thursday (September 26) at 6pm.

The service’s figures show that smoking remains the nation’s biggest killer with half of long-term smokers dying prematurely from a smoking disease.

The roadshow is taking place in advance of Stopober 2013, which runs nationally during October. Last year, 160,000 smokers in the country succesfully quit smoking.
