Olympic gold medallist Nick Skelton returns to Nuffield hospital to launch MRI scanner

LONDON 2012 Olympic gold medal winner Nick Skelton OBE paid tribute to the technology of the MRI scanner on Monday by launching the new one recently installed at Nuffield Health’s hospital in Leamington.

The show jumping rider is the only Olympian to have had a hip replacement - which he had after undergoing a scan at the Leamington hospital - and gone on to win a gold medal.

The new scanner, which cost more than £800,000 to buy and install, is a joint venture between the hospital and Alliance Medical.
