In his column with the Courier and Weekly News, he said: "I warn all private landlords not to evict tenants. I am ready to name and shame landlords locally.

"No one should have to face eviction over the coming weeks."

Mr Western added that he is disappointed that the government has not moved to ban all evictions but is happy that Warwick District Council will not evict tenants and will house all rough sleepers.

"I have put together a hub for coronavirus information on my website - mattwestern.org/covid-19/," said Mr Western.
