Leamington Art Gallery & Museum: Terry Frost: A Leamington Lad, an exhibition running until October 11.

The Art Barn at the Old Rectory in Preston Bagot, Henley in Arden hosts an ‘Arts’ Oddyssey’ until October 4, featuring paintings, ceramics and sculptures by a range of artists. It’s open from 10am to 6pm. Call 01926 843023 for details.

Kenilworth library’s meeting room hosts the Coventry Watercolour Society’s annual exhibition until September 26. This year’’s exhibition will feature a range of work from the society, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. Opening times are Saturday 10.30am to 1pm, Monday to Friday 10.30am to 4pm. There will be original paintings in watercolour and gouache, prints, and cards from many of the 52 members from the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

Orchestra of the Swan will be giving a special performance in support of the £1 million fundraising appeal for the new Stratford Hospital. One album, two men, too many instruments – two barefoot Aussies wield over 20 instruments to faithfully recreate Mike Oldfield’s epic 1973 masterpiece Tubular Bells in an unusual performance at the Spa Centre, Leamington at 7.30pm. Punk pioneers The Damned bring their brand of alternative theatre, showmanship and classic songs to Warwick University’s Copper Rooms. Having released one of the earliest punk singles, New Rose, in 1976, The Damned have never been afraid to push themselves musically and have explored any areas of progressive, psychedelic, goth and pop rock that have taken their fancy. Although the line-up has changed over the years, original lead vocalist Dave Vanian and guitarist Captain Sensible remain. Nine of their singles reached the UK’s top 40 in the 1970s and 1980s, including Love Song, Grimly Fiendish, The Shadow of Love and the 1986 hit Eloise, which reached number 3. Doors open at 7pm. The 2015-16 season of Leam Jazz begins with Michael Janisch, one of the most respected names on the British jazz scene today. Mike is a highly acclaimed bassist, composer, producer and record label owner (Whirlwind Recordings) and since moving here from the US a few years ago has been a major figure creatively and commercially As part of the launch tour for his new album called Paradigm Shift, Mike will play a concert at Leamington Rugby Club in Kenilworth Road with his sextet. His band is an all-star line-up with includes the award-winning saxophonist Paul Booth, Jason Yards, (sax), Alex Bonney (electronics/trumpet), Cedric Hanriot (piano/keys/synth) and Colin Stranaham (drums).
