The Belgrade Theatre, Coventry presents Terence Rattigan’s poignant play Flare Path from Tuesday November 3 to Saturday November 7. It stars Philip Franks, Olivia Hallinan, Leon Ockenden and Alastair Whatley. Based on Rattigan’s experiences as a tail gunner during World War II, Flare Path paints an evocative portrait of life in wartime Britain for the life-and-death existence of the RAF bomber crews, and their wives and sweethearts who were left waiting their return. Periodic Tales: The Art of the Elements

Exhibition runs at Compton Verney until December 13. The exhibition is based on the best-selling book, Periodic Tales: The Curious Lives of the Elements by Hugh Aldersey-Williams. Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum, until December 6: A celebration of the tenth anniversary of Leamington Football Club reaching the first round proper of the FA Cup. As well as memorabilia, those who wish to relive the football matches can watch a film documenting the cup run on the TV screen in the museum. There will also be a place for people to share their memories of the day.

Experience the sights, sounds, stories and emotions of those living during the First World War, as they are re-told and performed by local performers. Presenting actual records held by Heritage and Culture Warwickshire, this evening mixes a range of well-known war poems with excerpts from original letters, postcards, diaries, newspapers, hospital records and other written material from Warwickshire’s archives, accompanied by a backdrop of stunning First World War photographs.
