Heritage Theatre - put together by familiar ‘am dram’ faces known for their work at the likes of the Loft in Leamington and the Talisman in Kenilworth - is preparing for its first production at the town’s Old Court House in November and is now looking for actors to take part.

The show, directed by Gud Macdonald, will follow a specially-commissioned script based on actual records at Warwick Crown Court of the trial of an eccentric highwayman in the 18th century.

Founding member Chris Compton said: “We are very lucky to have so many wonderful historical buildings in and around Warwick with amazing stories to tell and the potential to host entertainments that bring those stories to life.”

Fellow group founder Fran Hubbard said: “The group has been set up with a view to ensuring that this legacy is kept alive and accessible to everyone through the medium of theatre and the performing arts.”

Open auditions take place at Warwick Space in Emscote Road, Warwick (next to the Millwright Arms), between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Wednesday (October 2). Performances at the Old Court House will run on November 15 and 16.
