Tales of war told by theatre group

We’ll Meet Again is being presented by Armistice Theatre, a small group of friends who dedicate much of their time ti staging plays about the First and Second World Wars.

The evening is a mixture of song and storytelling, with various facts about wartime interwoven.

It tells the story of the Trench family, with Freddie spurred on to join up by patriotism for his country as the Second World War looms, his little sister May who spends her war years growing up, and Thomas and Dord, who come to terms with the onset of another world war.

The show, which features many well-known songs, will carry on from the Christmas in the Trenches show staged by Armistice Theatre towards the end of last year which was based around the Trench family during the First World War.

Alec Brown, from Armistice Theatre, who created the work themselves and sometimes perform and write more modern plays, said: “We hope it makes history come alive.

“We are a small group of friends who have a passion for putting on plays about the First World War and Second World War in recognition of the sacrifice that men and women gave so that we are able to live the sort of lives with the freedom we have.”

The show will be performed at the village hall on Saturday and Sunday at 7.30pm.

It is suitable for all ages.

Tickets cost £7.50, which include at cream tea – appropriate to the period.
