See world class musicians play live at Warwick Arts Centre

The Russian State Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the internationally-known Warwick-based period ensemble Armonico Consort are among the classical musicians playing live at Warwick Arts Centre this autumn.

Tickets are now available for all performances in the centre’s 2014-15 concert series, which starts on October 7 with the Russian State Philharmonic Orchestra - led by principle conductor Valeri Polyanski (pictured), playing a programme of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov.

Sir Mark Elder and the Hallé will return on November 8, while Armonico Consort (main picture) will bring a festive mood to the centre when they perform Handel’s Messiah on December 14.

Emma Johnson, lauded by many in the arts circuit as Britain’s favourite clarinettist, will usher in the new year with the Royal Northern Sinfonia on January 24, and young Anglo-Russian violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky will join the Saint Petersburg Symphony Orchestra for Tchaikovsky’s lyrical Violin Concerto on February 18.

Spring highlights will include the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra accompanied by violinist Baiba Skride, the Warsaw Philharmonic with their new music director Jacek Kaspszyk and a concert to mark the arts centre’s 50th anniversary with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the University of Warwick Symphony Orchestra performing a programme of American music from Gershwin, Copland and Bernstein.

There will also be more intimate chamber concerts, featuring the Coull Quartet and the English Piano Trio, as well as opera screenings live from New York.
