Russian quartet returns to Leamington

LEAMINGTON Music’s new season of international string quartets will be launched on Friday by the Atrium Quartet from Russia.

In what will be their third visit to Leamington, the quartet will play an all Russian programme of pieces by Arensky, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky at the Pump Room.

The quartet are on tour in England throughout October.

Richard Phillips, of Leamington Music, said: “Leamington is therefore part of a fifteen date tour, which will certainly give the Atrium Quartet a great opportunity to experience England in its autumn glory.

“We are delighted to have this dynamic young Quartet back to Leamington and insisted that they play a Shostakovich quartet, as their performances of this great composer on previous visits were sensational.

“I know this concert will make a splendid start to our season.”

The concert starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets for this concert and for others in the series are on sale at the visitor information centre at the Pump Room or at the Bridge House Theatre box office.
