Naughty witty psycho panto for adults at Coventry theatre

FESTIVE entertainment for adults is giving audiences a break from the panto-frenzy once again at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry this year.

Crackers, written by Forbes Masson, comedy playwright and and Royal Shakespeare Company actor, is coming back to the theatre’s B2 stage next Saturday.

The show follows the story of young Leonard, played by Daniel Curtis, who finds himself trapped behind the checkout at cut-price Christmas shop, Myrrh’s Bizarre Bazaar. He longs to escape, find true love and live his dreams - but his boss, the evil entrepreneur Archibald Myrrh, has other abominable plans.

Masson, who has been performing for the RSC for almost ten years, has also written the music and lyrics for the show.

He said: “Crackers is a Christmas comedy musical sing-along psycho-panto for grown-ups, with lots of stick in your head melodies, naughty, witty lyrics and a storyline that’s completely crazy. It’s packed with original, fantastic and funny songs and a hilariously irreverent script with extraordinary characters.”

The show runs from Saturday December 8 to Saturday December 22. Tickets cost from £8.50 and £15. Call 024 7655 3055 or go online.
