Leamington band The Rushmore have taken their sound to the Far East

Indie rock outfit The Rushmore, named after Rushmore Street, have signed a two-album deal with 4Real Records and brought Welcome to the War to iTunes, Amazon and various other downloading or streaming websites.

The album has also been released to the Japanese market, on the cutting-edge high-resolution format, to bring a small part of Warwickshire to the Far East.

The band started out as an acoustic duo, when vocalist Daz Ryan and guitar player Trevor Davies met at Stratford College in the early noughties.

hey were then introduced to Neil Rowbotham, who accompanied them on rhythm guitar.

Playing gigs all over the Midlands, the trio soon added drums and bass, and over the following years established their current and most stable line-up; with the majority of the band being ‘original members with James Taylor on drums, and Ashley Hopkins on bass guitar.

Working with Matt Wadell from 14 Records in Leamington, who produces and plays keyboard for the band, The Rushmore released single Run Away on iTunes last year.

The Rushmore will soon play at the Punchbowl and the Smith Street Party - both in Warwick.
