The Horror Show, presented by Seeing 2 Sound, is described as an “immersive collage”, bringing together words and sound in a manner that promises to unsettle and chill.

Chris Long, musician and co-creator of The Horror Show, said: ‘The audience can expect a refreshingly diverse experience – certainly an intense one.

“Familiar touchstones of the genre will rub shoulders with ones that are perhaps less familiar, making for an exciting rejuvenation of the idea of Halloween.

Actor and co-creator Edward Pinner said: “The show is strongly influenced by our love of radio drama, audiobooks, ambient music and cinema soundtracks. Some of our audience, ‘the watchers’, will enjoy seeing Chris and I creating and manipulating the audio elements throughout the show, while others, ‘the listeners’, will let themselves be transported by the audio experience into a cinema of their imaginations.

“All will be treated to an atmospheric evening perfect for Halloween.

Ed added: “Chris is a remarkable musician and his music and atmospherics are so much more than a mere underscoring of the texts we use in the show.

“By combining the elements of music, atmospherics and voice, we not only give the audience something to listen to, we offer them an opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of thrills, chills and things that go bump in the night.”

The show takes place at the theatre, in Victoria Colonnade, on Sunday November 1 at 8pm.

Tickets cost £10 or £8 for concessions. See www.loft-theatre.co.uk to book or for more details. The production is suitable for ages 12 and over.
