Gothic thriller on big screen at Warwick Arts Centre

FRANKENSTEIN is making a return to Warwick Arts Centre, due to popular demand.

The National Theatre production, which is directed by the Oscar-winner Danny Boyle, can be seen on the big screen at the centre’s cinema on Thursday, with Benedict Cumberbatch playing Creature and Jonny Lee Miller playing Victor, and again on Thursday July 26, with the actors reversing their roles.

The well-known tale, based on the book by Mary Shelley, focuses on the creature created by Victor Frankenstein, who is childlike in his innocence, but grotesque in form.

Cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker, Creature meets with cruelty wherever he goes and this friendliest of beings, increasingly desperate and vengeful, determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal.

Urgent concerns of scientific responsibility, parental neglect, cognitive development and the nature of good and evil are embedded within this deeply disturbing classic gothic thriller.

Tickets to the screenings, which start at 7pm on both dates, cost £10 (£7.50 restricted view). Call 024 7652 4524 or go online.
