And the first exhibition taking place at the new space at 10 Livery Street, which is the home of the Leamington Studio Artists, focuses on the figurative art of the human body.

Gallery manager Kate Livingston said: “The human body has always been a strong influence in art history and great inspiration for artists. This exhibition will challenge the viewer, in the way that they look at the human body. And Gallery 150 is very lucky to be hosting very talented artists, Emma Tooth, Neil Moore, Mac 1, Ray Spence, and Melvyn Warren Smith.

The exhibition, Human Spaces, opens tonight (Friday September 5) from 7pm, with a live art performance by Kate Spence from Birmingham’s Live art group Home of Waifs and Strays. Then tomorrow (Saturday September 6) at noon and 3pm, Morgan Lee Forth, who performed at the Art in the Park event in Leamington in August, will perform Trace: Inked, an adaptive work which seeks to discover how a dancer’s movement can be translated across other artistic media and which takes its inspiration from The Physicality of Drawing by Charlie Ford,

Morgan describes the work as “an exploration of how dance is defined as an art form, creating new perspectives into how the dancer moves through the space”.

Human Spaces runs will be open at the gallery until Sunday September 14. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 6pm and Sundays 11am to 4pm.
