Family fun set to mark festivities

Step inside a magical and fun-filled winter wonderland to enjoy crafts, music and festive food and drink at Warwick Arts Centre.

The return of the popular Family Weekend will welcome in the festive season with a packed programme of free events for all ages.

Open at the university from 10am to 5pm on November 29 and 30, events will include an Enchanted Forest, festive treats in the Christmas market, crafts, sports and live entertainment.

And the free weekend will offer chance to deck the halls with your own Christmas decorations and take on a special treasure-hunting mission from a flutter of fairies.

There will also be chance to learn to play the ukulele, build instruments out of junk and enjoy live music in the foyer throughout the weekend.

Children can take part in mini-tennis, cake decorating, food hunts and story telling inside a giant pop-up book as part of ongoing family craft events. There will also be a Frozen sing-along and chance to see the Gruffalo.

The weekend will also see the opening of new interactive art piece, The Pool designed by artist, Jen Lewin to get families playing together with light and colour.

An announcement from the Arts Centre welcomed families to enjoy the huge range of events for another year, stating: “There are lots of free events and activities suitable for a range of ages.

“We also have a packed programme of family theatre and films. We are really excited about our family weekend and we look forward to seeing you there.”

The weekend is run by the Arts Centre in collaboration with Warwick Sport and Warwick Retail and includes a mix of free and ticketed events.
