Enjoy art at new Leamington restaurant

Hot Rock, a steakhouse and Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant in Warwick Street that opened last week, is displaying Alan’s solo exhibition until November.

A member of ArtsTrail, the new venture for local artists which opened a studio in Regent Court this summer, Alan only took up photographer seriously six years ago. But since then, he has gained a licentiateship with the Royal Photographic Society, as well as numerous awards with the Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique, while he has exhibited extensively both across the UK and internationally.

Alan also leads workshops, tuition courses and master classes at all levels.

Describing this new exhibition as “exciting news”, Alan, who celebrated the restaurant’s opening at its launch evening on September 10, said: “I am very proud of the quality of the printing and how stunning the images look in such a large format.”

ArtsTrail Studios in the former furniture shop in Livery Street was set up by Gerry Smith, the founder of the neighbouring Gallery 150, and Chris Barrow, a former manager of Bath Place Community Venture. The studio acts as a ‘hub’ for artists in the area, where they can work during the week, as well as exhibit their work and discuss it with visitors.

ArtsTrail is also behind the Leamington Contemporary Arts Fairs, which now take place at the studios (opposite Bar Angeli) every Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
