Temporanea art exhibition by BRINK, Kenilworth Castle. Open until Sunday.

LOOK up, look down, look in, look around; be intrigued, be amazed, be surprised, be touched.

Adults and children alike will love exploring the Temporanea art installations at Kenilworth Castle, hearing (and/or reading about) the tales which surround the creation of each piece, making up their own to go with each one.

Brought to you by Sarah Silver and Tim Robottom, in conjunction with English Heritage, and showcasing the exciting, innovative and sometimes very cute artwork of Stephen Charlton, Martin Johnson, Concetta Modica, Luke Perry, Suminder Virk and Tim Robottom, Temporanea is the latest project of BRINK, a not-for-profit contemporary arts organisation based in Warwickshire.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Kenilworth Castle, the Temporanea exhibition contains art which makes you think about the world’s environment and our impact on it as human beings, such as that created from everyday objects and ‘rubbish’, such as Tim Robottom’s Cascade, art which challenges perceptions and stereotypes, making the apparently impossible, possible; as in the way in which Suminder Virk created the mattress in Downward Spiral, defying time and conventions; taking us back in time in the thought-provoking cinematography of Luke Perry’s Poveri Fiori.

The works are as enchanting as Alice’s world through the looking glass, and as in a wonderland, there are Stephen Charlton’s magic mice and Tim Robottom’s colourful, creative chessboard characters.

It is commonly agreed that all art is open to interpretation. Whichever way you interpret the art in Temporanea, I bet you leave with a smile - I know I did.
