Creative coffee paintings at Warwick gallery support charity

The team at the Mitchell Gallery in Church Street is inviting people to join them for a cuppa to view the work of the Birmingham-based artist who likes to be known as ‘Jinxy’, who uses the brew to create a unique style of portraits, abstracts and sketches.

Jinxy, who is happy to meet visitors to the gallery by prior arrangement, says of his work: “Drawing and painting have been an obsession since I was young. I love all aspects of committing images to paper and canvas, and my work encompasses pencil drawings, abstract paintings in acrylic and portraiture in both pencil and paints.

“My subjects are mainly people and animals. I like to experiment with different materials to achieve different effects.”

The gallery is supporting the cardiac charity SADS UK, which aims to save lives by providing information, funding research and medical equipment to prevent premature sudden cardiac death.

Any proceeds from the sale of paintings and donations made by visitors will go towards the charity and towards the purchase of a defibrillator, which can save the lives of people who suffer potentially fatal cardiac arrests or heart attacks, to keep at the gallery.

Jinxi’s work will be on display until Tuesday May 29 and on Tuesday May 22, people will have the chance to meet Anne Jolly, founder of SADS UK, who will be at the gallery from 3pm.
