She creates her perspex paintings, now on display at the Arts Trail Studios in Leamington, by dribbling and controlling the paint - then allowing the paint to merge.

Sonia has followed in the footsteps of her mother Olga Rudenko, a well-established artist in Warwickshire. Since studying fine art at Warwickshire College, she has developed her own style of painting and has since exhibited her artwork in galleries across the UK. In this exhibition, she tries to reflect her bright personality in her artwork.

Sonia said: “I love the way the colours bleed and take on a life of their own. My photographs and artwork in general are a way of documenting my emotions.

“My use of paint enables me to create my own brand of catching the moment creative art.”

The studios in Regent Court currently display the work of seven artists, who also use the space to work during the week. The studios’ canning, printing and framing facilities are also open to the public to use.

Training and guidance for artists from underprivileged backgrounds is also available.
