Artists raise awareness at Leamington gallery

A Glance Behind Me is being held at Gallery 150 in Regent Court, Leamington, and is aimed at raising awareness of Cruse Bereavement Care and the services the charity provides.

Incorporated into the exhibition is a photographic short story called Gone But Not Forgotten.

This is an account of the issues an individual faces when their loved one dies and their home is left full of images of them.

Jane said: “Photographs are so significant.

“We covet them from our childhood scrapbooks, throughout the walls and side boards of the homes in our lives, on hard drives and mobile phones and in the days of our old age. We carry them on our journeys, pin them to our fridge doors and our office walls.

“Visitors support will help to raise the awareness of the difficulties and significance of images in bereavement, and also of the comfort they can often be.

“It may be an image in your wallet, on your screen saver, at the side of your bed, in a box in the attic or just in your heart, but you know how important it is to have them and remember.”

The exhibition with run until next Tuesday and will include a talk by the artist on Friday May from 7pm to 8pm. Admission is free.
