Antifolk hero strums his way to Coventry

AMERICAN singer/songwriter and comic book artist Jeffrey Lewis is readying himself to perform in Coventry this month as part of a UK tour.

Lewis is often regarded as part of the antifolk movement that grew out of the Sidewalk Cafe in New York, and it can be seen in his self-deprecating humour, off-kilter singing style and mixture of acoustic and punk songs.

Last week he released his new album A Turn In The Dream-Songs with the first single Cult Boyfriend. The album marks his first solo album since 2009, following two years of collaborations.

On Sunday October 23 he will appear at Taylor John’s House in Coventry.
