Fusilier Museum Warwick re-opens - fittingly just in time for VJ Day

New safety measures have been introduced so people can enjoy the experience and stay safe

The Fusilier Museum Warwick at St John’s House has re-opened following its closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Curator Stephanie Bennett said: "It has been great to finally re-open and to be able to welcome visitors back, especially in time for this historic weekend – the 75 th anniversary of VJ Day.

"The 1st Battalion the Royal Warwickshire Regiment were still fighting in the Far East."

The museum opened its doors on August 11 and has put in new measures include social distancing reminders, mandatory face masks, hygiene screens at the shop and at reception, payment by card reader, an enhanced cleaning regime, and hand sanitiser stations.

Stephanie added: "The museum has implemented many Covid-19 measures to ensure the safety of visitors and staff, whilst not losing the enjoyment and discovery of a museum experience."

The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.
