Trina Gulliver thrashed top seed Deta Hedman 5-0 on her way to the final of the England Open at the Bunn Leisure Holiday Park in West Sussex last weekend.
However, the nine-time world champion found no answer to the emerging talent of Fallon Sherrock, who beat her six legs to three to complete a memorable double having also won the National singles.
Gulliver had earlier won her group with a victory over Paula Jacklin (4-0), before wins over Hedman and Lorraine Winstanley (5-2) set up a clash against Ferron.
Gulliver also bowed out in the semi-final of the National singles after suffering a 5-4 defeat to Anca Zijlstra.
However, she combined with Lisa Ashton to win the pairs, beating Trish Kidd and Donna Rainsley 3-0.
