There must be an election brewing. I read with interest the Lib Dems’ latest newsletter which claimed that the “Lib Dems ‘win’ in the county budget’. This is extraordinary assertion as the county is led by the Conservatives with Labour in opposition. Lib Dems have only nine councillors out of 62. The budget has been set by a Conservative administration under great duress in order to meet the savings required by central government.
So once again it’s the Lib Dems who are apparently saving our country from ruin. I am sure I have heard that one before in the corridors of Westminster. So why are the Lib Dems showing a poll rating of seven per cent? I’ll leave that to the Lib Dems to tell us.
