As if by magic, the clouds lifted in time for Warwick’s town bonfire last Saturday which was followed by the usual spectacular fireworks display.
town bonfire last Saturday which was followed by the usual spectacular fireworks display. The weather did mean mayor Cllr Moira-Ann Grainger and the presidents of the Lions and Rotary Clubs did take a little longer than normal to get a blaze going...but once it started the Guy Fawkes figures made by pupils at Newburgh and Westgate schools were tossed on and a good time was had by all...except the Guys.
David Shore, chairman of the Bonfire committee thanked Warwick Racecourse and all the other sponsors for their support and added: “We are delighted that Warwick town people turned out in their thousands for their regular show.”
All the money raised will be distributed to local charities and good causes.
