It was the 100th year birthday party for the start of the Brownie movement and at least 70 years since Warwick had its first group.

That was 1st St Mary’s - who now meet at St Nicholas Church along with the 3rd Warwick Brownies.

Last week past commissioners and leaders from throughout the district dropped in for a celebration tea party held in The Gap community centre where uniforms were out and fancy dress was the thing to wear.

Girls from 2nd Warwick Brownies, who meet at St Mary’s RC Church, and 4th Brownies from All Saints, were among those who greeted the guest of honour, Warwick mayor Cllr Bob Dhillon who thoroughly enjoyed hearing about the way things used to be.
